Cristiano Ronaldo is reconsidering his decision to leave Real Madrid after club president Florentino Perez defended the forward earlier this week.

The Portuguese superstar is angry at the tax fraud allegations brought against him in Spain and has told Real Madrid that he wants to leave the Bernabeu in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have been mooted as his likely destination and there are suggestions that even Zinedine Zidane’s attempts to convince Ronaldo failed.

Through Monday and Tuesday this week Real Madrid president Perez staunchly defended his star player and compared him with club legends such as Alfredo di Stefano.

And it seems the Real Madrid supremo’s words have had their required effect as according to Spanish daily AS, Ronaldo is pleased with the way Perez defended and spoke about him in the Spanish media.

He feels Perez was positive towards him and it has been claimed that the forward is now reconsidering his decision to leave Real Madrid after the president’s timely intervention, in what will be a blow to Manchester United and PSG's hopes of signing him.

However, a decision is only expected after the Confederations Cup as the player is expected to meet the Real Madrid president to talk about his grievances and his future at the club.

But it seems the Real Madrid president has set the ball rolling to make sure that Ronaldo continues at the Bernabeu next season.
