Huddersfield Town are close to reaching an agreement with Montpellier for the signature of West Brom and Fulham target Steve Mounie.

The Montpellier hitman’s future has been a topic of much conjecture over the last few weeks, with a number of English clubs interested in snapping him up during the summer.

The Ligue 1 outfit rejected an offer from Fulham last summer and the English Championship side are again interested in the striker, but it seems he is on his way to the Premier League.

West Brom have been on his trail for a while along with Watford, but Premier League new boys Huddersfield are the ones who have been doing all the legwork to sign Mounie.

Montpellier rejected an initial offer from the Yorkshire club but it seems a breakthrough is on the cards as according to L’Equipe, the two clubs are close to agreeing a fee.
