Manchester City are considering making a move for Borussia Dortmund left-back Raphael Guerreiro this summer.

Pep Guardiola is in the market to sign a left-back and Manchester City have been negotiating for some time behind the scenes for the signature of Monaco’s Bernard Mendy.

However, the talks have not produced the desired results thus far and Monaco are reportedly unlikely to sell him unless they receive an exceptional offer in the upcoming window.

Mendy remains a target for the Citizens, but the club have gone to work to study other options in the market and according to French outlet Foot Mercato, Manchester City are considering Dortmund’s former Lorient star Guerreiro.

The 23-year-old Portuguese full-back has appeared on Manchester City’s radar and Guardiola could sanction a move for him if it becomes clear that Mendy won’t be leaving Monaco.

However, they could face competition from Juventus, who could also be in the market for a full-back should Chelsea finally succeed in wresting Alex Sandro away from the Italian champions this summer.

Dortmund are unlikely to be willing to sell the defender and there are suggestions that Guerreiro is likely to continue at the Westfalenstadion next season.

He has a contract until 2020 with the Bundesliga outfit.
