Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala visited the facilities at Lyon on Tuesday as the Ligue 1 club push to sign the Frenchman this summer.

The 26-year-old defender spent the last season on loan at Valencia and has been told by Manchester City that he doesn’t feature in Pep Guardiola’s plans going forward.

While he has made some noises that he wants to convince the Manchester City manager, he is aware that he is on the chopping block at the Etihad and is looking for a new club this summer.

Lyon have been interested in the Frenchman this summer and the club are pushing to convince the player to move to the Parc Olympique Lyonnais ahead of the new season.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, the defender was at Lyon on Tuesday, visiting the club’s facilities as he deliberates over his options over the course of the summer.
