New Rangers signing Alfredo Morelos has admitted that the league in Scotland is a step up to what he was used to in Finland.

The 20-year-old became Rangers's latest signing recently, moving from Finnish outfit HJK Helsinki on a three-year deal on Monday.

In an interview with his new club's official channel, the young striker said that he is well aware of the kind of competition he is expected to face at his new club and therefore the situation will be more complicated.

However, Morelos is not backing away from the challenge and insists that he will be mentally prepared and continue working hard on the training ground so that every time he gets an opportunity he scores a goal and puts up a strong case for himself to be selected in Pedro Caixinha's team.

“I know the league here is very competitive – more so than in Finland, so it’s a bit harder and is more complicated", Morelos said.

"I don’t have a target as yet – I’m a player who is really mentally prepared in a lot of ways so I’ll take each training session and game that I play in as it comes.

"Every time there’s an opportunity to score a goal in a game, I will do it constantly.

“I know that the supporters are really incredible – they come to support the team in every game and you always have to respect that and to make them happy in every game by winning.

"I know it’s not possible to win every game – there will be draws and defeats but it’s important to make the fans happy and to finish top of the league."

The young Colombian had been in great form for the Finnish giants, scoring 46 goals in 62 appearances before signing for the Scottish giants.
