Bayern Munich have reacted furiously to reports that Chelsea and Manchester United have opened talks with Robert Lewandowski's representatives and held out the threat of punishment from FIFA if rules are broken.

Lewandowski, who scored 43 goals in all competitions for the club last season, recently put pen to paper on a new contract with the German champions – but it has been claimed his relationship with coach Carlo Ancelotti is frosty.

Chelsea and Manchester United are admirers of the Poland star, but Bayern Munich insist he will not be sold, no transfer talks are taking place and held out the risk of punishment from FIFA if a player under contract is spoken to without permission.

In a statement issued by the club, Bayern Munich said: "Robert Lewandowski has a contract with FC Bayern which he extended a short while ago!

"FCB are not wasting any thoughts about a transfer by Lewandowski", the statement continued.
