Inter Milan have moved into pole position for the signature of Manchester City and Manchester United target Pietro Pellegri.

The 16-year-old striker scored his first senior goal for Genoa on the last day of the season against Roma and has attracted the attention of some of the big names of Europe, despite only making a handful of appearances.

Manchester City and Manchester United have been linked with making a move for the youngster and even AC Milan have been in talks with his agent regarding the striker’s future.

But it has been claimed that Inter have the edge over the clubs in the chase for Pellegri and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, they have already slapped in a €12m bid for the player.

While Genoa’s asking price for the youngster is said to be €15m, the club are considering accepting Inter’s offer and allowing the Nerazzurri to secure his signature this summer.

Inter have also been in talks with the entourage of the young striker and are prepared to loan him out to Genoa for the next two seasons to help aid his development.

The striker’s parents have been keen to see Pellegri continue at Genoa not only for his development in football but also to continue his studies.

And it seems Inter’s willingness to let the youngster continue at Genoa for two more years is tipping the scales towards them in the chase.
