Leeds United have knocked back an offer for West Brom and Burnley target Charlie Taylor this summer.

The 23-year-old defender’s future has been uncertain for a while and he is expected to leave Leeds once his contract expires at the end of this month.

Despite his contract being up this summer, Leeds will receive a compensation fee because Taylor is still 23 and he has been offered a fresh deal, but West Brom have been keen to agree a figure with the Yorkshire giants rather than take the matter to a tribunal.

The two clubs are yet to reach an agreement over a fee and according to BBC Radio Leeds, the Whites have also rejected an offer from an unnamed club for Taylor.

It is unclear whether the unnamed club are West Brom or a different name altogether, but it is understood the Baggies have cooled their interest in the defender in recent days.

Struggling to agree a fee with Leeds, the Midlands club could be looking at other options and it is unclear whether they will return to the negotiating table for Taylor again.

The defender is still attracting Premier League interest with Burnley still keen to explore the possibility of signing him but they are yet to make any concrete moves for him.

Taylor also has a new contract offer on his table from Leeds but he is in no mood to sign a new deal and is determined to leave Elland Road.
