Bayern Munich have set their sights on Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco after cooling their interest in Alexis Sanchez, in a boost to Arsenal's hopes of keeping the Chilean.

Sanchez has been Bayern Munich's top target for the summer transfer window and the German champions have been trying to negotiate a deal with Arsenal and his agent over the last few weeks.

But Sanchez’s huge wage demands, coupled with Arsenal’s financial expectations from a deal, have put off Bayern Munich and it has been claimed that they have cooled their interest in the Chilean.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, the Bavarians have turned their eyes towards Atletico Madrid’s Carrasco as a replacement target for the Arsenal superstar.

Carlo Ancelotti is a big fan of the Belgian winger and has given his nod to Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Carrasco, who will be expected to add pace and power to their attack next season.

Bayern Munich are also prepared to offer around €50m for the player, but they would have to work hard to convince Atletico Madrid to part ways with one of their most important players.

And since the Spanish giants are banned from registering any new players this summer, the club are unlikely to agree to sell Carrasco as they won’t be able to sign a replacement.
