Sunderland striker Fabio Borini’s agent is set to meet AC Milan soon to probe the possibility of his client joining the Rossoneri this summer.

With the Black Cats relegated to the Championship, Borini is expected to leave this summer and the Italian is keen to return to Serie A in the upcoming transfer window.

Lazio have recently shown an interest in the former Roma man, but Borini is more interested in joining AC Milan, who have been linked with a move for the player this summer.

The Rossoneri have Borini on their radar but they are prioritising other signings at the moment and the striker has been willing to wait for AC Milan to make an offer.

According to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia, the player’s agent will meet AC Milan soon to understand how concrete their interest in Borini is and discuss the possibility of him moving to the San Siro.

Brendan Rodgers is also keen to snap up his former Liverpool striker, tempting him to move to Celtic this summer and Borini is also believed to be tempted to work under his former manager too.

But returning to Italy is his priority and AC Milan’s remains his favoured choice, with the meeting between his agent and the club expected to bring more clarity to the situation.
