Leeds United have officially confirmed the arrival of Poland international midfielder Mateusz Klich from Dutch side FC Twente.

Twente only just signed Klich last summer from Kaiserlautern, but have now opted to cash in by selling the midfielder to Leeds.

Klich jetted into England on Thursday for his medical and has now put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Elland Road and becomes new head coach Thomas Christiansen's first signing in charge of the Whites.

The 27-year-old is delighted with the move and insists he cannot wait to test himself in England's second tier, the Championship.

"I am very happy to have signed for such a huge club and I’m looking forward to playing in the famous white shirt", he told LUTV.

"I’m excited to come to England and test myself in the Championship and I can’t wait to get going.

"The team came close to promotion last season so hopefully we can go one better and I’m looking forward to meeting my new team mates next week and getting started", Klich added.

The midfielder was in good form for Twente in the Eredivisie last term and Leeds will hope he can quickly adapt to life in the cut and thrust of the physical Championship.

Klich will now undergo physical tests with his new team-mates before starting pre-season preparations ahead of the summer friendly programme.
