Leeds United are keen on signing an unnamed young player from a Premier League club this summer on a permanent deal.

The Whites are looking to strengthen their squad over the summer and new head coach Thomas Christiansen made his first signing on Friday when snapping up Polish midfielder Mateusz Klich from FC Twente.

Klich has signed a three-year contract with Leeds, keeping him at Elland Road until the summer of 2020.

The Yorkshire giants have mainly been linked with players plying their trade outside England so far, but they do have an interest in a Premier League player, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The player is said to be a youngster at a top flight club and Leeds are looking to do a permanent deal.

However, there is no suggestion as to who the player is, with Leeds keeping their transfer targets tightly under wraps.

The Whites are expected to be busy this summer as they look to reinforce a squad that finished just outside the playoff spots in the Championship last term.

Transfer policy is being led by new sporting director, Victor Orta.
