Manchester United linked defender Marquinhos has made it clear that he is not contemplating leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The Brazilian defender’s future recently came under the scanner after there were claims that PSG have received three huge bids for him, including a €70m offer from Manchester United.

It is not the first summer that Marquinhos has been linked with a move away from PSG and the player did add fuel to fire in past years over his future with the Parisians.

However, the defender is calm about his future at PSG this time around and has confirmed that there will be more talks in the coming days and weeks over extending his contract with the club.

He indicated that the recent rumours about him leaving PSG are baseless and stressed that he is happy to continue in the French capital for the time being.

The defender told French sports daily L’Equipe: “I have a contract until 2019 and we are in talks to extend it.

“The new sporting director, who has been appointed, will hold further talks but I am calm and I have expressed my desire to stay at PSG as I’m happy here.

“This is also why there have been very little rumours about my future this summer.

2It’s good too as I can calmly enjoy my holidays as I know my future is in good hands of PSG, my agent and my family.

“We’ll take the best decision.”

He joined PSG from Roma in 2013 and has racked up 161 appearances for the club thus far.
