Chelsea and Monaco are yet to reach a definitive agreement over a fee for Tiemoue Bakayoko, but a deal is expected to be finalised next week.

The 22-year-old midfielder has been on Chelsea’s radar for months and they have been in talks with Monaco in order to reach an agreement with the Ligue 1 champions.

It has been claimed that negotiations between the clubs have been long and bitter as Monaco have budged very little from their initial demand for a fee worth €50m for Bakayoko.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, the last offer from Chelsea was between the €42m to €44m region and with the help of bonuses that final fee is expected to touch the €50m mark.

The two clubs have almost reached an agreement for Bakayoko’s move to west London but a final deal is only expected to be penned when the two clubs again meet for talks.
