The decision makers at Lyon are divided over snapping up Eliaquim Mangala and are considering a move for another Manchester City defender in the shape of Jason Denayer.

Mangala has been informed that he has no future at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola and after spending a season on loan at Valencia, the club are looking to sell him this summer.

Lyon have been interested in signing the French defender this summer and the player was at the club’s facilities earlier this week and is considering a move to the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.

However, Lyon could opt out of a deal for Mangala as according to French sports daily L’Equipe, there is no unanimity in their decision markers over a move for the Manchester City defender.

It has been claimed that the club are assessing other options and the club could favour a move for another Manchester City defender, Belgian star Denayer, over signing Mangala this summer.

Denayer spent last season on loan at Sunderland and still has a contract until 2020 with Manchester City, who are considering loaning him out again this summer.

Lyon have long admired the Belgian defender and could consider snapping him up over bringing Mangala to the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.
