Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivere has insisted that his side will sell Tottenham Hotspur and Roma target Jean-Michael Seri if an interested club agree to meet his release clause.

The 25-year-old midfielder’s future has come under the scanner as Nice are facing pressure to sell him due to interest from some of the big names of European football.

Barcelona and Tottenham are interested in snapping him up and even Roma and Napoli are keeping tabs on his situation as Seri contemplates his future at the Ligue 1 outfit.

None of the clubs are yet to table a bid close to his release clause figure and Nice president Rivere has made it clear he won’t sell the midfielder for anything less than the €40m figure.

The Nice supremo told French radio station RMC when asked about Seri: “We’ve got morals and we have set the bar at €40m.

“If someone comes up with a bid of €40m, we have a moral obligation to let the player go."

And the president raised the possibility that Seri could well stay.

“Maybe he will remain part of our team [next season].”

The midfielder played a key role in Nice finishing third in the Ligue 1 table last season and scored seven goals and provided nine assists in the process.

He has a contract until 2019 with Nice.
