Charlie Taylor is to join Burnley from Leeds United this summer, despite having been linked with a switch to Scottish champions Celtic.

The left-back is out of contract at Elland Road and has no intention of signing the new deal put on the table by the Whites, as he looks to test himself at a higher level.

West Brom have been keen on the 23-year-old, but in recent days Celtic were claimed to be eyeing up a swoop for Taylor, something which would have been bad news for Leeds due to the reduced compensation fee the Bhoys would have paid.

Now, according to the Burnley Express, Taylor is Turf Moor bound.

He is believed to have agreed personal terms with Burnley, although the Clarets have not yet agreed a fee with Leeds.

With both clubs keen to avoid the matter going to a tribunal, a fee is expected to soon be agreed.

Taylor came through the youth ranks at Leeds and quickly established himself as a key man and an exciting talent at Elland Road.

He follows fellow academy products Sam Byram, Lewis Cook and Alex Mowatt in heading away from the club over the 18 months.
