Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson is making sure when he returns to Elland Road he will not be starting from scratch on the fitness front.

The Whites welcomed their players back to their Thorp Arch training base on Monday for the start of pre-season, with the players due to train under new head coach Thomas Christiansen.

Jansson though has been away on international duty and also got married, meaning he is not due back yet.

But Jansson's new wife, Asa Thornell, has revealed that the defender is making sure he stays fit and ready – by training in his garden.

The centre-back's wife posted a video of Jansson doing sit-ups as he looks to keep fit.

Jansson has completed a permanent move from Torino to Leeds this summer, after establishing himself as a firm fan favourite at Elland Road last term while on loan at the Championship side.

The centre-back attracted attention from a number of clubs on the back of his performances for Leeds, who narrowly missed out on finishing in the playoff spots.

It remains to be seen whether the Whites will field concrete bids from Premier League clubs for Jansson this summer.
