France defender Kurt Zouma is prepared to prove himself again at Chelsea next season and has made clear that he has no plans to leave the Blues.

The 22-year-old centre half returned to the Chelsea first team in February after missing almost a year due to a serious knee injury and only made three Premier League starts in the second half of last season.

With the World Cup next year, many feel Zouma might have to leave Chelsea in the summer to play regular football, but the defender has no such plans for a transfer.

The Frenchman insisted that he is feeling happy at Chelsea and with the club back in Europe, he is confident that he is going to get his opportunities next season and it will be up to him to prove his mettle again.

“I am very happy at Chelsea”, the defender told French magazine France Football.

“My main goal is to stay at Chelsea.

"Next season we will start from scratch and there will be many more matches.

“The cards will be back on the table and it’s up to me to do the job.”

Zouma has attracted interest from France, with Lyon, Marseille and Nice believed to be keen on signing him on loan from Chelsea in the summer.

And while he is flattered by the interest, the defender made it clear he doesn’t want to leave Chelsea.

“I have heard the rumours and it’s flattering as it means I am being watched.

“But I am not going to stop [with my Chelsea career] here.”
