Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas does not believe that Alexandre Lacazette, who is wanted by Arsenal, will leave the club this summer.

Lacazette had seemed set for a switch to Atletico Madrid before the Spanish giants saw their transfer ban upheld, meaning they will only be able to register new players in January 2018.

Of late Arsenal have emerged as key contenders for his signature, though Aulas is looking for €60m to part with the prolific striker.

Despite Arsenal being on his trail, Aulas does not see Lacazette leaving Lyon this summer though. However, he is not ruling out a January move to Atletico Madrid, when the Spanish side can register new players again.

"I don't think so", Aulas said on Canal+Sport when asked if he feels Lacazette will leave this summer.

Pressed on whether a move to Atletico Madrid in January is on the cards, the president replied: "It is possible."

Lacazette, 26, netted 37 goals in all competitions for Les Gones last season, further boosting his attractiveness to a number of clubs.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal will still push to sign Lacazette if the striker has his heart set on a move to Spain in the new year.
