Leeds United are Samu Saiz's most likely destination over the course of the next week, with a €3.5m transfer fee to be split between Huesca and Atletico Madrid.

The Whites are leading the chase for the forward, despite interest from no fewer than four La Liga clubs, who are prepared to offer Saiz the chance to step up to the Spanish top flight.

According to Spanish daily AS, Saiz is set to leave Huesca over the course of the next week and Leeds are in pole position to sign him.

The English Championship side will pay €3.5m for Saiz, with 50 per cent of the fee going to Atletico Madrid, who hold half the player's rights, and the remaining 50 per cent to Huesca.

€1.75m will represent a big fee for Huesca, who will instantly set about reinvesting the money in the team.

Saiz was in superb form for Huesca last season in the Spanish second tier and Leeds will be hoping he can quickly adapt to the cut and thrust of Championship football.

If Leeds can close out the deal for the forward it will also be considered a coup given the fierce interest from La Liga in his services.
