Barcelona are aware that Gerard Deulofeu is not keen to return to the Nou Camp during the summer transfer window.

The Catalan giants have informed Everton that they want to execute the €12m buy-back clause they inserted into the agreement when they sold the Spaniard to the Merseyside club in 2015.

Barcelona have until Friday to officially invoke the clause, but according to Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo, the club are aware that the winger is not prepared to return to the Catalan giants.

Deulofeu spent the second half of last season on loan at AC Milan after struggling at Everton under Ronald Koeman and he did enough in Italy to find his way back into the Spain senior set-up.

Currently involved in Spain’s Under-21 European Championship campaign, the winger has said very little about his future, but Barcelona know Deulofeu is unwilling to return.

While new Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde rates the player, Deulofeu is aware he has little to no hope of replacing any one of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez or Neymar in the starting eleven at the Nou Camp.

The winger also has offers to move to Italy, with Roma prepared to offer €15m to take the Everton winger to the Stadio Olimpico this summer.

Deulofeu has little role to play in Barcelona’s decision to buy him back, but the club would want his consent to re-sign him this summer.
