PSV Eindhoven are trying to do a deal with Chelsea for Marco van Ginkel, who has been told he is not in the Blues' plans for the 2017/18 campaign.

Van Ginkel spent the second half of last season on loan at the Eindhoven club, while he also had a spell on loan at the Dutch giants last year.

PSV are firm fans of the 24-year-old and want to sign him on a permanent basis or on another loan deal, but according to Dutch daily the Eindhovens Dagblad, the two clubs do not have an agreement yet.

Van Ginkel is keen to return to PSV, but is due back at Chelsea on Monday.

Despite not having Van Ginkel in their plans for next season, Chelsea have still not ruled out a future for the Dutchman at Stamford Bridge and believe he has potential.

For how much longer Chelsea will keep Van Ginkel though remains to be seen as the Dutchman was originally snapped up by the club in 2013 and will turn 25 years old in December this year.

He saw a bad knee injury disrupt his Chelsea career soon after signing and has also had loan spells away from the club at AC Milan and Stoke City.

In total, Van Ginkel has made just four appearances for Chelsea.
