Pepe Reina’s agent is set to meet Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis soon to discuss the future of his client, amidst interest from Newcastle United.

The 34-year-old goalkeeper has a year left on his contract with Napoli and there has been talk that he could be looking to leave the club during the summer transfer window.

Napoli and the player’s representatives have been in talks over a new deal, but there remains considerable difference between the club’s offer and the goalkeeper’s demands.

Newcastle have shown an interest in the veteran shot-stopper with Rafael Benitez keen to reunite with his former Liverpool goalkeeper but everything has been on hold for a while.

Reina is currently on his holidays but according to Il Mattino, his agent will soon meet Napoli president De Laurentiis to find a solution for the Spaniard’s future at the club.
