Leeds United bound Felix Wiedwald turned down two offers to join the Whites.

The Yorkshire giants are paying Werder Bremen €500,000 to sign the goalkeeper, who will be handed a three-year contract when he passes his medical with the club.

Wiedwald recently fired the starting gun on his departure from the Bundesliga side when his advisors told Werder Bremen that their client was keen to move on in search of a new challenge.

The goalkeeper had just a year left to run on his deal with the German side.

Leeds have had to see off competition to land Wiedwald.

According to German daily the Weser-Kurier, Wiedwald received contract offers from French club Nantes and Greek outfit PAOK Salonika.

But the custodian has decided he wants to continue his career in England at Elland Road.

It is not yet clear whether Leeds see Wiedwald as their number 1 between the sticks or backup to last season's first choice Rob Green.
