Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur target Jean-Michael Seri has not linked up with Nice as planned and is still in the Ivory Coast.

Midfielder Seri was due to return to Nice and be with the squad for Saturday's friendly game in Switzerland against local side Nyon, which the French outfit won 4-0.

According to the Nice-Matin, an adminstrative problem has been cited as the reason Seri is still in the Ivory Coast, but nevertheless the club are still likely to hand him a fine due to his no show.

The development comes amid continuing doubt over Seri's future at the Ligue 1 club.

He has been linked with Premier League pair Arsenal and Tottenham, while Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Roma are also suitors.

Seri was a key man for Nice last term as the club managed a lofty third place finish in Ligue 1.

Nice are publicly clear that Seri will not be sold this summer unless his release clause of €40m is met.

The French side expect the midfielder to link up with the squad on Monday.
