Crystal Palace have ended their interest in signing Mamadou Sakho from Liverpool and have turned towards other options, with Sevilla's Adil Rami a target.

Sakho spent the second half of last season on loan at Selhurst Park and turned in a series of superb displays as the Eagles secured their Premier League status.

Liverpool have slapped a £30m asking price on Sakho, despite the fact Jurgen Klopp considers him surplus to requirements, but if the Reds had been counting on Palace paying they are set to be disappointed.

According to French sports daily L'Equipe, Crystal Palace have abandoned the chase for Sakho.

The London club have started discussions over signing Rami from Sevilla, as they look for defensive reinforcements.
