AaB sporting director Allan Gaarde will not yet confirm that his club are set to sign departing Tottenham Hotspur star Filip Lesniak.

The 21-year-old midfielder is leaving Tottenham this summer following the conclusion of his contract and the Premier League club's decision not to offer him fresh terms.

Lesniak himself has already announced a move to Denmark with AaB, but Gaarde will not confirm that the deal has been done for the Slovakian, even though he admits he is well aware of the player.

The sporting director told Danish outlet Bold: "I cannot comment on it.

"Not right now", he continued.

"Of course, I know about him, but I cannot say anything more about it."

Lesniak however has confirmed the move and insists it is a switch designed to make sure he can play regular first team football, something which would not have been on offer at Tottenham.

"I am a young player and I need to play", he told kosiceonline.sk.

"AaB are a quality club with great ambitions and the Danish league is very good", Lesniak added.

Tottenham snapped Lesniak up from FC VSS Kosice in 2012 and drafted him into the youth ranks at White Hart Lane.

The midfielder was handed his Premier League debut by Spurs in May this year, but then surprisingly did not have his contract renewed by the north London giants.
