Inter Milan coach Luciano Spalletti has insisted that Manchester United target Ivan Perisic has to honour his contract and adapt to the situation despite speculation over his future.

The 28-year-old winger has been on Manchester United’s radar all summer and he has already agreed the terms of a contract in anticipation over a move to Old Trafford.

However, Inter have rejected multiple offers from Manchester United and are believed to be demanding a big fee and Anthony Martial on loan in exchange for Perisic.

Manchester United have taken a pause in their pursuit of the player and Spalletti also feels that Perisic will have to adjust now and focus on playing well for Inter at the moment.

He admits that Inter could still sell the Croatian if they receive the right offer for him this summer.

The Inter boss was quoted as saying by Calciomercato.it: “It’s normal for a player such as Perisic to want to join Manchester United, but he has a contract and he will have to adjust.

“If the right bid came in then the talk will change and we will evaluate it but for moment, it has not arrived.”

It remains to be seen whether Manchester United return for Perisic later in the window or look to evaluate other options in the market.
