Newcastle United and West Ham target Ryad Boudebouz is closing in on a move to Real Betis from Montpellier this summer.

The 27-year-old winger’s future has been under the scanner for a while, with a number of clubs across Europe believed to be interested in snapping him up.

Montpellier have also been interested in listening to offers for Boudebouz and he has also been widely linked with a move to England, with Newcastle and West Ham interested.

However, he is expected to be on his way to Spain after Real Betis slapped in a bid for him a few days ago and it seems an agreement has been reached between the clubs for a transfer.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, a deal worth €8.5m has been worked out and Boudebouz is expected to join the Spanish outfit in the coming days.

Montpellier initially wanted a fee of around €15m, but after selling Steve Mounie to Huddersfield for €13m, the club decided to lower their asking price for Boudebouz.

The player has also been interested in a change of scenery and he is expected to complete a move to Spain with Real Betis, despite interest from across the English Channel.
