Anderlecht are considering making a move for Everton and West Brom target Thomas Vermaelen this summer.

The former Arsenal defender spent last season on loan at Roma and injury issues and form meant that he remained a peripheral figure at the Stadio Olimpico.

Barcelona are more than willing to listen to offers for him and the former Gunner has a number of takers in the Premier League still, despite his horrendous injury record.

West Brom and Everton are considering snapping him up this summer and even Crystal Palace have been linked with a move for him, but the 31-year-old could return to Belgium.

According to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws, Anderlecht are exploring the possibilities of signing the defender from Barcelona in the last month of the window.

The Belgian giants are considering Vermaelen as a viable option as they look to add some experience to their backline in the final weeks of the market.

The Belgian is not part of Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde's plans going forward and he has made just 21 appearances for the Catalan giants since joining the club in 2014 from Arsenal.

He still has two years left on his contract with Barcelona.
