Barcelona are expected to make their first bid for Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur target Jean-Michael Seri next week.

The 26-year-old midfielder’s stellar last season with Nice has led to interest from some of the biggest names in Europe, including Premier League clubs.

Tottenham and Arsenal have been keeping tabs on him all summer and Roma had to bow out of the race to sign Seri after failing to reach an agreement with Nice; Swansea have also been linked with lodging a bid.

However, Barcelona are the ones who are stepping up their efforts to try and sign the Ivoirian and according to Catalan daily Sport, they are expected to make an initial bid next week.

The Catalan giants are currently tied up in negotiations to sign Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele and Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho and have asked the midfielder to wait for a while.
