Wages are continuing to be an issue in Leeds United's pursuit of Hamburg striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga, as the Bundesliga club look to offload him.

Lasogga has slipped firmly out of the first team picture at Hamburg and Leeds have been chasing a season-long loan deal with an option to make the move permanent should he impress at Elland Road.

Hamburg want Lasogga off the books, especially due to his yearly salary of €3.4m.

The Bundesliga could would have to shoulder some of Lasogga's wages in any move to Leeds, but financial issues are still weighing heavy on any deal.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Lasogga's wages would put him high above Leeds' pay structure at Elland Road and as such the finances of a deal are a big obstacle.
