Lazio have accepted an offer from Southampton for Dutch defender Wesley Hoedt and the two clubs are finalising the details of an agreement.

With Virgil van Dijk’s future at Southampton still uncertain, the club have been eyeing signing a defender and the 23-year-old Lazio Dutchman has been on their radar.

The Saints have been in touch with Lazio for the signature of the Dutch defender and according to Sky Italia, the two clubs have reached an agreement over a fee for Hoedt.

It has been claimed that Lazio have accepted an offer of around €17m from the south coast club and the two clubs are now working on the fine print of the agreement.

The defender is expected to travel to England once the two clubs finalise the details of their agreement and the Dutchman is expected to undergo a medical with Southampton soon.
