Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has re-emerged as a target for Inter Milan towards the end of the transfer window.

The Dutch defender’s contract talks with Tottenham have stalled as he is reportedly demanding parity in wages with the club’s best paid players in Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris.

Alderweireld has been one of the most consistent defenders for Tottenham over recent seasons, but his future at the club has come under the scanner because of the new contract tussle.

And it has been claimed that the arrival of Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth could mean that the defender could be allowed to leave towards the end of the window next week.

According to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, Inter are alive to the situation and are closely monitoring his situation at Spurs with a view to making an unexpected move at the end of the window.

Alderweireld has been on Inter’s radar for some time, but Tottenham have been unwilling to lose the Dutchman.

However, it has been claimed that things could change over the course of the next ten days.
