Monaco are closing in on a deal with Lazio for the signature of Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus wing target Keita Balde.

Lazio have been expecting to lose the player this summer and have been holding out for more money despite interest from a number of clubs in Italy and England.

Juventus, Napoli, AC Milan and Inter Milan have all been linked with a move for the 22-year-old winger and there is also talk of Tottenham preparing a big money offer for the Senegalese.

But it seems Monaco have stolen a march on the other clubs and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Ligue 1 champions are closing in on a deal to sign Balde in the coming days.

Portuguese super agent Jorge Mendes has been negotiating on behalf of Monaco and while Lazio rejected an initial offer of €19m, the two clubs have continued to hold talks.

And it has been claimed that the Ligue 1 champions are now just a step away from agreeing a deal with Lazio and take Keita to the Principality before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Their proposed offer is believed to be better than anything Lazio have received for Keita’s Serie A suitors and the club are close to reaching an agreement to sell him to Monaco.
