Crystal Palace have put in an offer of £10m for West Ham United striker Diafra Sakho, as they look to hijack Rennes' move for the player, according to Sky Sports News HQ

Sakho arrived in France at 10am this morning and proceeded to start his medical checks with Rennes, which he has now passed.

The finishing touches have been being put to the deal to take Sakho back to France, where he last played for Metz.

But now he could have an option to stay in London after Crystal Palace slapped in a £10m bid with the Hammers for his services.

The Eagles have had a difficult start to the season under new manager Frank de Boer and are looking to make additions before the window closes on Thursday night.

It remains to be seen if West Ham are happy to accept Crystal Palace's proposal.

And Sakho, who decided he would struggle for playing time if he stayed at the London Stadium, will have to decide whether to abandon a move to Rennes which is already well advanced to travel back to London.
