Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack, who has been linked with Leeds United and most recently Sunderland, is available for loan heading into deadline day, according to Sky Sports News HQ

Leeds were credited with having made enquiries about McCormack earlier this month, while Sunderland boss Simon Grayson is an admirer of the proven Championship goal-getter.

McCormack is surplus to requirements at Villa Park and Aston Villa are ready to move him on.

Steve Bruce's side will even offload him on a loan deal, but Sunderland have yet to make an approach, while Leeds have been tying up the arrivals of Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Pawel Cibicki.

It remains to be seen if Leeds would consider a late loan move for McCormack, who scored regularly during his prior spell at Elland Road.

Sunderland too could make an approach, but McCormack earns big money at Villa Park and it is unclear whether Aston Villa will subsidise his wages in any loan move.

The 31-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Nottingham Forest.
