Liverpool are still keen on signing Thomas Lemar from Monaco despite putting the finishing touches to a swoop for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, it has been claimed.

The Reds have agreed a fee of between £35m and £40m with Arsenal for Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Now the club's medical staff are heading to England's St. George's Park training base, where the midfielder is, to put him through a medical.

Liverpool were claimed to be looking to sign only one of Oxlade-Chamberlain or Lemar.

But according to Guardian Sport's Ed Aarons, they are still keen on Lemar.

Liverpool have made bids for Lemar in recent days, which Monaco have rejected as they continue to insist the winger will not be sold.

However, there is an expectation that if Liverpool continue to improve on their prior offers then Monaco will eventually agree to sell Lemar.

It remains to be seen if the Reds are willing to reach a high enough level for the Frenchman though.
