Paris Saint-Germain full-back Serge Aurier is closing in on a move to Tottenham Hotspur after he obtained a work permit from the UK Home Office earlier today.

Aurier has been keen to leave PSG over the last few months and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has already worked out an agreement with the Parisians for a fee of €25m.

The Ivoirian has also agreed personal terms over a move to north London, but his transfer was being held up by an outstanding legal issue, which prevented him from entering the United Kingdom.

With all the details agreed in principle, the anxious wait was to see whether Aurier will be granted a visa to travel to London and play for Tottenham this season.

And according to Sky Sports News HQ, the deal is set to go through as the UK Home Office have cleared Aurier’s way for a transfer to Tottenham by granting him a work permit.

The defender has already passed a medical with Spurs and will be travelling to London soon to finalise his transfer and become Mauricio Pochettino’s fourth signing of the summer.

With Kyle Walker sold to Manchester City, Pochettino wanted to sign a right-back and Aurier is about to solve the Tottenham’s manager’s problem in the coming hours.
