Cameroon International Karl Toko Ekambi has rejected a deadline day transfer to newly promoted Premier League outfit Brighton.

The Seagulls slapped in an €8m bid for the 24-year-old winger earlier today and later improved their offer to €10m, showing their interest in signing him.

It is unclear whether Angers were keen to accept the offer from the Premier League side, but it seems the player is not interested in a move to England on deadline day.

And according to French sports daily L’Equipe, the player has rejected the approach from Brighton and the Seagulls have been left looking elsewhere.

He scored seven goals and provided five assists last season in Ligue 1 and it seems he will continue to play his football in the top tier of French football at least until January.

Ekambi still has three years left on his contract with Angers and it seems he wants to continue at the club for the time being.

And with a little more than an hour left in the transfer window, it remains to be seen whether Brighton will be able to find a replacement target and get a deal over the line in time.
