PSV Eindhoven failed with an approach for Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen.

Tottenham are moving to bring in Fernando Llorente from Swansea City and the arrival of the Spaniard will place further question marks over Janssen's future at the club.

The Dutchman's situation at Tottenham has been noted in his homeland and, according to the Eindhovens Dagblad, PSV did make an approach.

However, the swoop did not work out and it is unknown exactly when PSV made their move.

Janssen has struggled to make an impact since joining Tottenham from AZ Alkmaar last summer and is increasingly being linked with leaving the north London club.

His stock remains high in his homeland and PSV were willing to take Janssen back to the Eredivisie.

It remains to be seen whether other clubs make a move for Janssen before the transfer window closes in a matter of hours, and what Tottenham's terms might be over a departure for the striker.
