Barcelona are racing against the clock to sign Angel di Maria from Paris Saint-Germain after giving up on Philippe Coutinho.

The Spanish giants wanted Coutinho, but Liverpool's stance has not changed today, meaning Barcelona have opted against trying their luck with another offer.

With the transfer window still open in Spain until later tonight, Barcelona are now trying to sign Di Maria from Paris Saint-Germain as an alternative.

According to Catalan daily Sport, Barcelona have just sent an offer of €40m plus a further €5m in add-ons, after starting the bidding at €25m earlier in the day, then increasing to €35m.

PSG started out demanding €90m to part with the Argentina international, but have now dropped their valuation to €60m.
