Juventus officials are working to convince Emre Can to move to the club next summer on a free transfer from Liverpool as they are pessimistic about the chance of the Reds agreeing to sell the German in January.

Can has yet to sign a new contract with Liverpool, despite the Reds' efforts, and has now entered the final 12 months of his deal at Anfield.

Juventus made a move to sign Can in the summer window, but Liverpool would not consider letting the German go, despite his contractual situation.

Now the Bianconeri are talking to Can's representatives to seal a move next summer for the midfielder, according to Italian daily Tuttosport.

As such, the Bianconeri are focusing their efforts on an agreement with the player's representatives to snap Can up for free next summer.

Liverpool snapped up the Germany international from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014.

He is a key man under Reds boss Jurgen Klopp and has continued to be picked by the German tactician despite his contractual situation.
