Philippe Coutinho is ready to refuse to play in the Champions League for Liverpool to keep his options open for a possible January move to Barcelona, according to Catalan daily Sport.

Barcelona were desperate to sign Coutinho in the summer, but saw their bids knocked back by the Reds, who managed to hold on to their prized asset.

The Brazilian, who is yet to feature for Liverpool in a competitive game in the present campaign due to a back problem, however played for his national team during the international break.

It has been claimed that the 25-year-old is annoyed with Liverpool for blocking his dream move to Barcelona and is ready to make himself unavailable for the Merseyside giants in the Champions League.
