Philippe Coutinho considered defying Liverpool’s orders and staying in Brazil for several more days following his international commitments with his national team.

Coutinho remains bitterly disappointed with the way Liverpool blocked his transfer to Barcelona despite the player making it clear through a transfer request that he wanted to leave.




Barcelona revealed last week that Liverpool demanded €200m on deadline day to sell Coutinho, a claim the Merseyside giants have denied as they say they were never interested in any negotiations to sell the Brazilian

Coutinho has return to England following his international commitments with Brazil, but according to Catalan daily Sport, the attacking midfielder considered staying in his homeland.

The Brazilian was considering defying Liverpool’s orders and staying in Brazil to spend more time with his family and friends, taking stock of his situation with regards to his future.

However, Coutinho realises that he will remain a Liverpool player until at least the January transfer window and is keen to avoid any bitter clashes with Jurgen Klopp and the club hierarchy.

But the creative midfield man remains undecided on whether to play for Liverpool in the group stage of the Champions League in order to avoid being cup tied if Barcelona return for him in January.

Coutinho is yet to feature for the Reds this season and despite the club claiming he was struggling with a back injury, he featured for Brazil during the international break.
