Manchester United linked winger Ivan Perisic does not have a buy-out clause in his proposed new contract with Inter Milan.

The Croatian winger agreed personal terms to join Manchester United in the summer but the Premier League giants were left frustrated by Inter’s negotiating tactics.

The Nerazzurri knocked back multiple offers from Jose Mourinho’s men and eventually Manchester United bowed out of the race to sign Perisic after not agreeing to meet Inter’s hefty asking price.

Inter have been in talks with his representatives since last month over a new and improved contract for the Croatian and Perisic is expected to put pen to paper on fresh terms soon.

There were also suggestions that Inter could put in a release clause in his contract but according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the proposed new deal will not be having any such provisions.

The outlines of the contract have been agreed and Perisic is expected to sign a new five-year deal worth €4m to €5m per year soon with the Serie A giants.

Luciano Spalletti was desperate to hold on to the player and feels it is a big win that Inter managed to see off Manchester United’s interest in Perisic.

He has already scored a goal and provided three assists this season for the Nerazzurri.

It remains to be seen if Manchester United will try again for Perisic in January.
