West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis has stated that Jonny Evans was unfazed by the speculation surrounding his future at the club.

The defender, whose present contract with the Baggies runs until 2019, was heavily linked with a move away from the Hawthorns during the summer transfer window, with Manchester City and Arsenal interested in snapping him up.

The Citizens even put forward a bid for Evans, but West Brom knocked it back and the Northern Irishman remained with the West Midlands outfit.

And Pulis, who expressed his delight at Evans staying put at West Brom, went on to add that the 30-year-old is unperturbed by all the transfer chatter regarding him.

"It's very important keeping Jonny”, Pulis said in his pre-match press conference on Friday.
