Tottenham Hotspur full-back Ben Davies has joked that the win the Londoners managed against Everton at the weekend will make new signing Davinson Sanchez feel that the Premier League is easy.

The Lilywhites had a comfortable outing against Ronald Koeman's side as they outclassed the Toffees 3-0 at Goodison Park, thus returning to winning ways after a 1-1 draw against Burnley in their last match.

Giving his opinion on his defensive team-mate, who has just been snapped up from Ajax, the full-back said that Sanchez strikes him as a "proper defender" who will regularly come out on top in duels against opposing players.

"He must think this league is easy! No, I thought he was great. He’s a proper centre-half, a player who will win headers, win challenges", Davies told his club's official website.

As far as the team's performance in the match was concerned, the Welsh international said Spurs were solid at the back and won great tackles to deny their opponents the chance to capitalise on moments of possession.

"We looked very solid at the back all-round, we didn’t give away too many chances and the quality we had on the ball when the defenders won it was great."

On the physical aspect of Sanchez's game, Davies added: "He’s a top player, big, strong and he was in there when the ball came in long.”
