John Hartson thinks Frank de Boer should see the positives after being sacked by Crystal Palace, believing the Dutchman will net millions in compensation and be back in work in six months' time.

Crystal Palace sacked De Boer on Monday morning, despite the former Ajax and Inter coach having only been given four Premier League games in charge.

De Boer was allowed to shape his team through pre-season and the summer transfer window, but then handed just 360 minutes in charge of the club in the Premier League.

Criticism has flowed Palace's way, but Hartson thinks De Boer should not be down over having lost his job.

Hartson expects De Boer to be paid millions by the Eagles and then make a quick return to management.

"Frank de Boer naturally disappointed!!" Hartson wrote on Twitter.

"But the positives are he walks away with millions!! Pay off!

"And he's back in work in six months", he added.

De Boer led Ajax to four Eredivisie titles during his time in charge at the Amsterdam ArenA, but then struggled to make his mark in Italy at Inter and was shown the door in November 2016.

He was keen to make sure his next job offered the right mix to enjoy success, but De Boer is now once again out of work.
